My Thankfuls

I think one of the biggest pitfalls that we each can experience is ingratitude for all the good that we experience in life.  The best example that I could use to demonstrate what I’m talking about recently happened with my wife while we were having date-night at a restaurant.  I had opened the door for her (and she said thank you) and was about to follow her in when I noticed that there was another woman a few steps behind me.  The door had already started to close so I reopened it and waited for the other woman to enter.  The woman looked at me as if saying, “You’d better hold that door for me,” and never once said, “Thank you,” for the kind act.  Ingratitude.  With that being said, and with Thanksgiving already upon us, I thought I would take the time to write a little bit about the people in my life that I am most thankful for.
First and foremost is my Savior, Jesus Christ.  I cannot tell you how many times He has let me lean on Him during my times of need.  His sacrifice on my behalf and His buoying me up during difficult times can never be repaid by me.  And, sadly, I don’t show my gratitude as often as I should.
I definitely would be ungrateful if I did not mention my wife.  She is the reason that I am able to keep going most days.  Without her I would be nothing.  She has my eternal thanks and love for all that she has helped me to become and do.
My children come next in the pecking order.  Each one of them does amazing things and helps in their own way.  Without them my life would be so empty.  I am grateful for all that they do and are.  They, like my wife, are the reason that I do all that I do.
My family and friends. They have been here for us so many times and keep us going (especially during the roughest periods of life).  Thanks for helping to buoy us up when we need it most.  (Oh, and if the “Great-and-Powerful Boz” is out there we need to do lunch and soon.  You too, Peter!)
Naturally there are many others and I could go on forever, but those people listed above are the ones that I really felt needed to hear it from me.  Thank you all for your help and understanding when we have been in need.  You are all the reason we do all we do.
