Links-R-Us, Vol. 12

Welcome to another Link-Friday.  I recently had an epiphany concerning Link-Friday.  Historically as I have stumbled across articles that I have found interesting I have just copied the link to a holding area and moved on.  Well, this week I tried something totally different.  When I found a link I also wrote the blurb concerning the link at the same time.  When I gathered five links a new Link-Friday post was born.  So, now that I have increased my efficiency, I can honestly say, “What took me so long to think of that?!?”
Everyone who has read my blog knows that I check LifeHacker fairly often for tips and tricks about everything from tech stuff to improving ones household.  With that being said, a link on LifeHacker recently led to the following blog and its’ entry concerning uncluttering your house.  Based on this article I think that I will be adding this blog to my personal follow list.
Our next link is to an interesting article.  It talks about why it’s important to know how to program computers and gives a link to CodeAcademy’s website where you can learn to create code for free.  Having already signed up for their web coding course prior to reading this article, it now all makes sense as to why they are offering this service.  I’m still gonna take advantage of their offer, though.
This next link is to a website that one of the blogs that I follow links to as a joke.  Apparently, for a small fee, you can purchase the peace of mind in knowing that the pets you leave behind will be taken care of once the rapture occurs.  Don’t think too hard about this one – my brain really hurts every time I do…
Our next link refers to something that really makes you go, “Huh?”  Psychics, 40 years after the fact, claim that the Apollo 16 crew was visited by Aliens while on the moon.  They figured this out while watching movie footage taken during the moon landing.  Go figure.  Now before I turn you loose on the link I just want to say one thing about it – talk about a load of bunk.  To disparage true heroes with silly claims just angers me.
Our last link today is one that comes straight from a Sci-Fi movie I saw as a child.  Once upon a time Tom Selleck stared opposite of Gene Simmons in a movie called Runaway.  In this movie an evil robotics engineer (or maybe he was an assassin – my brain is a wee bit foggy on the details) created and used a gun that had target seeking bullets.  Well…  Sandia National Labs has tested a self-guided bullet that homes in on a laser beam and hits targets from a mile away.  Granted, it’s not quite as high tech as the weapon in the movie, but it does contain an eight bit processor to help it figure out what to do.  I’ve included the link to the Slashdot summary and the full article from gizmag.
And on that semi-scary note we bring another Link-Friday to a close.  Hopefully it was something fun and informative for everyone.
