Welcome to another addition of Link-Friday. Ok, so this one comes at you on a
Monday. Hopefully it will bring a few
smiles to your faces – we could use more of that in this world… I’m also doing something a bit different with
this edition to see if you like it and if it is worth doing. I was thinking that maybe I should have you
vote in the comments below as to which link is your favorite. Then, once every now and then, I could do a
battle of the weekly winners to see which link “reigns supreme” (gotta throw in
a little Iron Chef there). And so,
without further ado, here are this week’s contenders:
Our first link is a commercial for a new cable station in
England – Sky Movies 007 HD. This
commercial includes car chase scenes involving every James Bond actor to
date. Oh, and the plug is pushing their
channel that plays nothing but Bond 24 / 7.
Yup, you heard me: Bond all the
time. How lucky can the English be?
Our next link explains why rain smells like it does. Just for the record I would have to say that
the smell, no matter what the cause, is one of the best in the world.
This next link is to an article that talks about new road painting
techniques for the future. The plan is
to use weather specific paints that will warn the driver about the road
conditions. I personally think that it
has potential until it is covered with two inches of snow and you can’t see the
ice pattern. But, then again, I’m just
being a wee-bit petty ‘cause I didn’t think of it and get rich. Shoot.
How many Lego’s stacked on each other in order to make the
bottom most block fail? Our next link
talks about that (here’s a hint: it’s never been achieved yet so they had to
figure it out mathematically….).
Now my wife and I are HUGE fans of NCIS. I have a brother who currently serves in the
military and I’m a pretty big fan of shows that show military personnel in a
good light. Our servicemen and women
sacrifice so much for each of us that I could never repay their service. Our next link is to a video of the NCIS
agents attending Sexual Harassment Training.
Having sat through this type of class in a couple of my past work lives
I can so relate to what they are going through.
Someone sent a journal addressed to Indiana Jones to the
University that Indy taught at in the movies.
Really?!? It’s a pretty good
prank, but it makes one go hmmm. They
actually think someone slipped it into the university mail system. What student has THAT much spare time during
the semester to create such a cool hoax?
There you have it.
Those are our six contenders for this Link-Friday. We have some entertainment, some science and
some toys. Who could ask for anything
better? Have a great week and don’t
forget to vote in the comments.
