Links-R-Us, Vol. 20

Once again I find that Link-Friday has snuck up on us.  And, ironically enough, it has chosen to fall on Friday.  I’d like to take this time to thank everyone who voted in last week’s Link-Friday competition.  Your winning link for last week was...  None!  Nobody voted.  Who knew?  Maybe we’re just getting off to a slow start.  Or, maybe the links were too boring.  Or, maybe this is really a silly idea on my part.  Unfortunately, I really don’t have an answer for which of the above it is.  So…  We’ll try it again this week to see if there are any takers…  Thanks in advance for giving it a shot.

Here is lots of info from great people about talking to your children about tragedy.  Sure this information came out in response to the Newtown shootings, but it is relevant to all tragedies.  Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all effected by this tragedy.

You know, this has got to be one of the best wedding bands in the world.  If you can slip Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” into a wedding without anyone knowing what’s up (except maybe the poster of the video) then you’re probably one of the best wedding bands ever.  Wow.
Speaking of weddings…  Here’s a video of an interesting way to propose to your fiancé – convince her that the plane you’re flying is gonna crash.  Enjoy.
This next link is to an article concerning being a better conversationalist and employee.  In short, instead of asking yes and no questions you should ask open-ended questions that require thought and longer answers.  The article also talks about leading questions and other ineffectual questions.  A lot of this seems like common sense so I am pretty sure that it’ll be fairly useful with the amount of common sense the world seems to be lacking as of late.
Our next link is another Lego link.  Apparently, as a hobby, a computer program developer was bored one day and decided to build a drone – out of Legos!  Yup, a flying Lego drone cruising around.  Go figure.  At this rate, the next great thing we’ll hear about is a life-size Lego replica of the Titanic crossing the Atlantic only to be sunk by a life-size Lego iceberg.  As much as I love Legos, I never would have envisioned a fully automated flying Lego drone (see the last half of the video).  Enjoy.
Our final link is a Christmas link.  What damage would have really been done to the “Wet Bandits” of “Home Alone” fame?  This article has a doctor that’s willing to weigh in on the matter.
Once again we’ve come to the end of another episode of Link-Friday.  We’d like to thank all of you readers out there for your continued support and please, don’t forget to vote!  In the immortal words of Tigger, “Ta-Ta For Now!”
