Links-R-Us, Vol. 21

Welcome to another Link-Friday.  And, as seems to be custom as of late, nobody voted on last Link-Friday posts so we are just gonna have to rule that a tie.  So we now have ten links in the running for best link of the year.  With that being said, here are this week’s offerings.

Our first link is to a Star Trek infographic.  This infographic shows all the TV shows, movies, etc. related to the Star Trek franchise.  It seems to be well done and pretty informative.  I was a little surprised to find out that there were new Star Trek television shows airing for 18 years straight.  Wow.  That is pretty impressive.

In a related note to our first link, the White House is being urged (via petition) to build a real-life starship Enterprise.  I think this one ranks right up there with the petition to build a Death Star.  A little wacky, if you ask me…

Apparently some police officers in Colorado got themselves in hot water with the execution of an errant elk.  And, to top it off, the local residents held a candlelight vigil in honor of the fallen elk.  That’s just plain weird.  Here are a couple of links to the investigation and the vigil.

Our next link is about a bicycle that was swallowed by a tree.  Yes, you heard me, a tree ingesting part of a bicycle.  From what I understand, there’s a Christmas story that talks about this as well.  I think that is what caught my eye about this story.  Enjoy.

To round out the last of our links for this week I’ve turned to videos of the weird.  We have a moose chasing a skier, two men plunging off a cliff in their Zorb (a giant inflatable ball) and up to 60 students and parents “brawling” at a school bus stop over a two day period.  Ok.  What can someone say to that?  I get the whole moose thing, “This is my mountain, get off!”  And, that’s about it.  I’ll never be able to figure out the climb into a ball and roll down and mountain thing.  And then we come to the parents and school kids brawling thing.  Really?  Tempers flaring on one day I can see.  Holding a grudge and starting the whole thing all over again the next day?  What a sad day for parents and their children.

Thanks for taking the time to swing by and check out this week’s Link-Friday.  And, in the immortal words of someone whom I cannot remember their name, “Don’t forget to vote!”
